About Me

Emma Major

Hello! I am a mum of three girls, respiratory physiotherapist and yoga teacher, based in Southampton, UK.

I am passionate about teaching and practising yoga and celebrating the health benefits that yoga can create.

ABOUT EMMA MAJOR YOGA

BSc Physiotherapy, MCSP, YAP 200 Hour Yoga Teacher, HCPC Registered

I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2005 and have been working in the NHS as a physiotherapist ever since. My clinical speciality is the physiotherapy management of those with respiratory diseases and long term health conditions.

I am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

After 12 years of practising yoga, in 2021, I completed my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Laura Green Yoga.

Since then, I have been finding new ways to share the fantastic health benefits that yoga can bring through in-person, online and private classes.

I have studied and practised many different styles of yoga, including; vinyasa, hatha, yin, ashtanga, rocket, chair and restorative.

I love combining this experience with my knowledge of anatomy, physiology and the amazing human body, to optimise health by connecting breath and body.

I have a deep understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the breath and the biological importance of effective breathing on our physical and mental health. Breathing and moving well are essential to optimising and maintaining our health and wellbeing.
